                                    Recipe for the day

                                   Mushroom sausage

1 lb. Mushrooms Crimini or Button type
3 Tbs. Olive oil
2 tsp. fresh minced garlic
1 tsp. fennel seed
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp. liquid smoke

Chop mushrooms in smaller pieces and saute in 3 Tbs. olive oil. Add the rest of the ingredients and stir to incorporate all the ingredients. Cook until the mushrooms are tender. You can use this as a sausage replacement in recipes. We enjoy it on pizza. Also it's very good with pasta.

 "Afternoon on a Hill"

I will be the gladdest thing
Under the sun!
I will touch a hundred flowers
And not pick one.

I will look at cliffs and clouds
With quiet eyes,
Watch the wind bow down the grass,
And the grass rise.

And when lights begin to show
Up from the town,
I will mark which must be mine,
And then start down!

"There seem to be but three ways for a nation to acquire wealth. The first is by war, as the Romans did, in plundering their conquered neighbors. This is robbery. The second by commerce, which is generally cheating. The third by agriculture, the only honest way, wherein man receives a real increase of the seed thrown into the ground, in a kind of continual miracle, wrought by the hand of God in his favor, as a reward for his innocent life and his virtuous industry."- Benjamin Franklin
